Voluteers
The Saucon Valley Youth Basketball Program thrives entirely on the dedication of volunteers who are passionate about fostering a supportive environment for young athletes.
These are committed individuals that not only coach, but also help organize events, manage logistics, and raise funds to ensure the program's success.
If you're interested in volunteering in our program, please consider these roles below:
- Head Coach: Brings the fun and positive attitude to every practice and game! Responsible for team strategy, creating practice plans, and game day management. Is the team owner in TeamSnap. Manages and cascades all communication to the team via TeamSnap chat, alerts, or email.
- Assistant Coach: Supports the head coach with drills, player development, and game day logistics.
- Team Parent: This is someone who organizes the team from a social perspective. May create signups for post-game snacks. May take or collect pictures to pass along to the organization to highlight players on your team. May support team event logistics.
- Score Keepers: For games run in the Elementary School Cafeteria (minors league) or Elementary School gym, we will need volunteers to support running the portable scoreboards. For games held in the Middle School Gym, the head coach will select either an assistant coach or a trained parent to work the scoreboard.
- Hall Monitors: This is someone who will monitor hallways, common areas, and entrances to ensure student/spectator safety and appropriate behaviors. They will act as a friendly and approachable figure for spectators to turn to for help with directions in Saucon hallways. This would not be scheduled during your child's game.
