Voluteers

The Saucon Valley Youth Basketball Program thrives entirely on the dedication of volunteers who are passionate about fostering a supportive environment for young athletes.

These are committed individuals that not only coach, but also help organize events, manage logistics, and raise funds to ensure the program's success.

If you're interested in volunteering in our program, please consider these roles below:

  • Head Coach: Creates a positive, fun environment while lead the team through practices and games. Responsible for developing practice plans, coaching strategy, and management game-day logistics. Acts as the primary point of contact for the team in TeamSnap, sharing updates and communications through chat, alerts and email.

  • Assistant Coach: Works closely with the head coach to support practices, assist with player skill development, and help manage logistics on game days.

  • Team Parent: This is someone who organizes the team from a social perspective. May create signups for post-game snacks. May take or collect pictures to pass along to the organization to highlight players on your team. May support team event logistics.

  • Score Keepers: For games run in the Elementary School Cafeteria (minors league) or Elementary School gym, we will need volunteers to support running the portable scoreboards. For games held in the Middle School Gym, the head coach will select either an assistant coach or a trained parent to work the middle school scoreboard.

  • Scorebook Keeper: Keeps an accurate record of the game by tracking points, fouls, timeluts, and player stats in the official scorebook. Works alongside the scoreboard operator to ensure the book matches the game clock and score. The role is essential for league reporting and playoffs. Training is simple and will be provided before the season starts.
