Recreation Teams

Saucon Valley Youth Basketball offers the following programs for both boys and girls in grades 1 - 8.  Youth must reside in the Saucon Valley School District

 

1st/2nd Grade Girls & Boys

This program is under review to ensure we are continuously improving our programming for this age group.

Previous Season - 2024/2025:

All teams or clinics for this age are inhouse, practicing on a modified court (SV Elementary School Cafeteria), with roll in baskets. Practices occur between 6 and 8pm during the week with games on Saturdays or Sundays.

  • 1st grade boys played inhouse, 4 team division, 4v4 with 8ft backets.
  • 2nd grade boys played inhouse, 4 team division, 4v4 with 9ft backets.
  • Girls - 1st and 2nd played inhouse together, 4v4. Teams would switch up each week for games.

It is possible we may keep the above structure. If we can register enough girls, we can keep girls separate. Otherwise, programming will move to Co-Ed.

Minors Basketball Rules

 

3rd-6th Grade Girls and Boys Recreational

Saucon Valley's Recreational teams play in the All Valley League. 

Practices: Two practices each week

Games: One Saturday game at the following locations: SV Elementary School, SV Middle School, Southern Lehigh Intermediate School, with potential to play at Salisbury and/or local area teams.

Games begin in December and finish in late February. There are standings and playoffs.

 

 

 

Travel

Saucon Valley participates in the following Leagues:

LVKBL and Rising Stars.

 

Travel games are mostly within 30 minute driving radius of Saucon Valley when not played at Home.

 

Athletes will attend tryouts in the fall and be evaluated on ball handling, passing, lay ups, speed, shooting, rebounding, defense, effort, and coachability.

 

Teams will be assigned within 2 weeks after evaluations are completed. Games start late November/Early December and run through late February/Early March.
